Mike McCann

Trumpeter and Educator

Mike McCann is a versatile trumpeter and educator based in Oakland, California. A graduate of McGill University's Jazz Performance program, Mike has studied with teachers including Steve Emery, Scott Macomber, Ron Di Lauro, Bill Maher, Jocelyn Couture, Jason Palmer, Jerry Seeco, and Bill Moffett. His performance career spans diverse musical contexts, from touring internationally with Busty and the Bass to performing with the Vallejo Symphony, SF Philharmonic, and the Napa Regional Dance Company. Mike's extensive theater credits include productions of Hello Dolly, Into The Woods, Ragtime, and numerous other shows, while his recording work appears on albums by La Dona, The Dear Hunter and Busty and the Bass. As founder of Trumpet Lessons with Mike, he maintains a private teaching studio in Oakland, sharing his passion and expertise with students of all levels.
